Lackluster Recrap: Only nine Recraps to go

You thought the final two weeks of 2010 were painful? What we're witnessing right now is actually worse. This is the most embarrassing, unwatchable brand of baseball I've witnessed in 20 years.

Yes, even those teams from 1999-2006 were easier to watch, mainly because those teams had no expectations going in. To see how much this current Rockies team has detriorated, even before the injuries, is just depressing.

If there was crying in baseball, I might be depressed enough to cry. I don't think there's any law against puking, so I'll go ahead and do that.

Giants 12, Rockies 5 (boxscore)

Just when it looked like Esmil Rogers might be taking small steps forward, he runs into his old nemasis from San Francisco and promptly wets the bed.

His line: 3 2/3 IP, 7 H, 9 ER, 2 BB, 0 K, 4 HR

That's about an ugly as a starting pitcher's line can get. And that's before taking into consideration that one of the home runs he allowed was hit by Matt Cain.

Man, I was so hopeful Esmil could step up and make a case to be the 5th starter next season. It was probably silly on my part, but this start here, and his overall inconsistencies, should have the Rockies looking elsewhere.

Oh, hey, look, there's Jason Hammel. I've actually been impressed by his performance in the bullpen. He added two more scoreless innings here. But we'll probably ended needing him more in the rotation again.

What else?

Oh, did you see JC Romero's pick-off throw to first when Jordan Pacheco wasn't holding the runner? Do our players even communicate with each other? That's the type of crap that reflects poorly on everyone in the dugout. Make sure the players know what's going on. Get on the same freaking page.

Final Thought

Losing to the Giants sucks.

Getting swept in a four-game series at home by the Giants is a living Hell.

They have had more injuries than the Rockies all season long, and they're still battling their ass off to stay in the playoff chase. I can't stand them. I don't want to respect them. But dammit, they always make us look bush league. Tired of it.
