Lineup Card: Game 3 @ Kansas City

I am really excited to watch today's game. Love the pitching matchup.

Aaron Cook will be out there looking to equal his recent strong efforts against the Phillies (Roy Halladay) and Cubs (Randy Wells).

This will be a challenging day for an already challenged Rockies offense.  Zack Greinke is currently in the same tier as Ubaldo, Halladay, Tim Lincecum and few others. In fact, that may be the first tier in its entirety right there.

But you know, it can't get too much worse for the offense than we've seen this week.  Sometimes matchups like these are just what the doctor ordered to bust a slump.  Maybe the Rockies peck away at Greinke a few innings before finally breaking through with a 3-4 spot.

Crossing my fingers for that result, along with a Cookie victory.

Rockies Lineup

  • CF Fowler
  • DH Giambi
  • 1B Helton
  • SS Tulowitzki
  • LF Smith
  • RF Spilborghs
  • 3B Stewart
  • 2B Barmes
  • C  Phillips
Now there's a Sunday lineup.  Interesting Tracy benches Olivo against Greinke.  Olivo was Greinke's personal catcher last season and would probably have a good idea what to expect.  I guess he can play hitting coach from the bench.

A much needed day off for Brad Hawpe.  And CarGo gets another day off as Dexter Fowler is announced as a late replacement for him in the leadoff slot.

Royals Lineup
  • RF DeJesus
  • C   Kendall
  • 1B Butler
  • DH Guillien
  • 3B Callaspo
  • CF Maier
  • SS Betancourt
  • 2B Getz
  • LF Bloonquist
This is definitely a fast lineup being sent out there by Ned Yost.  Perhaps he's hoping the extra speed will put some pressure on the Rockies defense, especially if Cook's sinker is on.
