Padres 9, Rockies 6 (Boxscore)
Hits
Carlos Gonzalez
First longball of the spring for CarGo over the hitting background in center. That's a mammoth poke. The Rockies still have him leading off, which I have mixed feelings about, but there's no doubt he's going to hit 25 HRs and steal 25 bases, making him an all-star candidate. My guess is he settles into the #3 spot next season.
Rafael Betancourt
Just really good to see Betancourt get out there and work an inning in a game situation. Hopefully everything feels good when he wakes up in the morning and he's on track for April 5.
Joe Beimel
Great to see the Rockies add some depth in the bullpen after the Street situation developed. This team isn't being stubborn and pretending like injuries don't affect them. The bullpen needed some shoring up, they made it happen. I'm appreciative of that as a fan.
Misses
Jason Hammel
Just a minor miss here because Hammel has looked great all spring. It just wasn't his sharpest effort today, but, then again, it wasn't sharpest overall effort from the entire team either. Kind of felt like one of those 'going through the motions' days.
