Cubs 6, Rockies 2
Losing Player: Everyone
What a mess.
This isn't March 18th in Mesa, Arizona against the Cubs split squad. It's May 18th. The games count now. Going through the motions and getting your swings in isn't good enough. Not when you're struggling for consistency and the team you're playing is desperate for wins.
Don't be fooled by what you saw. The Chicago Cubs are far from a good baseball team. Heck, I didn't even think they played all that well or inspiring these last two games themselves, but it was more than enough to own the Rockies.
That's embarrassing.
The Rockies made the playoffs last season based strongly on their ability to crush these awful NL Central teams. It's not happening this season. 0-2 in Chicago. 1-2 in Milwaukee, who oh by the way are 4-14 at home. Yes, half their home wins against Colorado.
That's also embarrassing.
I don't want to talk in depth about the game tonight. What's the point? The Olivo slide was embarrassing. Tracy's handling of the bullpen in the 8th inning was embarrassing. The offense was embarrassing since pitch one last night.
Just an all around awful and forgettable series that I'm very thankful was only two games.
