Just a quick glance at the guidelines...
Everything is taken into consideration -- offense, defense, pitching, clutchness, baserunning, consistency, awareness, intelligence, and in this case, performance will be weighed against expecations.
I'm looking back at the entire first half of the season (xx games). I figure I need to draw a line somewhere with all of the recent roster shuffling, so it'll be any player has five played in at least five games for the Rockies this season.
Let's get to this one...
- Todd Helton
- Troy Tulowitzki
- Jhoulys Chacin
- Carlos Gonzalez
- Matt Belisle
- Huston Street
- Seth Smith
- Ubaldo Jimenez
- Matt Lindstrom
- Jorge De La Rosa
- Ty Wigginton
- Jason Hammel
- Matt Reynolds
- Jason Giambi
- Chris Iannetta
- Clayton Mortensen
- Jonathan Herrera
- Juan Nicasio
- Charlie Blackmon
- Mark Ellis
- Franklin Morales
- Jose Morales
- Rex Brothers
- Dexter Fowler
- Rafael Betancourt
- Chris Nelson
- Matt Pagnozzi
- Eric Young Jr.
- Greg Reynolds
- Ryan Spilborghs
- Esmil Rogers
- Aaron Cook
- Alfredo Amezaga
- Matt Daley
- Jose Lopez
- Felipe Paulino
- Ian Stewart
It was difficult ranking the Top 4. Helton wins out for his consistency. Tulowitzki rates just ahead of Chacin because his hot streak in April carried the team to a great start. Without that great start, there would be zero reason optimism in the second half. As it sits now, there's not much anyway.
Surprised at how high Franklin Morales ranked? I was too at first, but look at the bleh after him. It was impossible trying to sort that mess out. So much disappointment.
