White Sox 6, Rockies 1 (Boxscore)
Hits
Manny Corpas & Franklin Morales
Working back-to-back days for the first time spring, Corpas and Morales both turned in another scoreless inning. After rough beginnings to their springs, both men seemed to have turned the corner in their preparation and should be ready to lock up spots on the opening day roster. Not that there was a whole lot of question in either case. Especially with Betancourt and Street still lingering in question a bit.
Misses
Aaron Cook
Hmm. Well that makes it two very unCookmanlike performances in a row. The three walks really stand out as a problem. That's not like Cook at all to be all over the place. The Whie Sox made him pay for that extra traffic plating three runs in three innings with six hits. Cook's spring ERA is now about 1/3 of Ben Sheets', which isn't a good thing. We'll keep a close eye on his next outing this Sunday.
Defense
Three errors today (Ian Stewart, Michael Paulk, Eric Young Jr.) didn't help matters, but all Cook's runs were earned. Ian Stewart now has four errors on the spring. EY Jr's error led to Omar Quintanill exiting the game with a left leg injury. That's almost worth a miss itself... but I've picked on young EY enough.
